Bringing learning to life with creativity and care
With nearly a decade of experience in education, Tanya brings a joyful energy and a wealth of knowledge to every lesson at Teachitright’s Maidenhead Tuition Centre. Starting her teaching journey in an SEN school, she quickly realised her passion for helping children grow – academically, creatively, and personally. After qualifying through the SCITT salaried route, an employment-based pathway for individuals to become qualified teachers, she spent several years teaching Years 5 and 6, leading SATs interventions and championing pupil success.
”There’s something incredibly fulfilling about helping children gain confidence and reach their potential. I knew as soon as I stepped into the centre that it was the right fit.
Now Head of Drama and Head of House at a prep school, she continues to inspire children through performance and language, while keeping her core subject skills fresh through regular English and Maths teaching.
Joining Teachitright was a natural step. “I’ve always wanted to tutor,” she says. “There’s something incredibly fulfilling about helping children gain confidence and reach their potential. I knew as soon as I stepped into the centre that it was the right fit.”
In her sessions, Tanya combines structure with creativity. She’s known for her enthusiasm, engaging lesson plans, and dynamic vocabulary games – whether through storytelling, sentence building, or acting out new words! Her background in Drama and LAMDA makes language learning especially vivid and memorable.
Outside the classroom, she’s a passionate reader who loves A Little Princess, The Secret Garden, and Harry Potter. Wonder is another favourite – a book she’s loved sharing with her Year 5 pupils for its heartfelt messages.
As a bilingual speaker of Danish, Tanya often visits Denmark with her family and is delighted her young daughter is starting to speak the language too.
