Meet the Tutor: Anna, Slough Centre

Bringing enthusiasm, experience and encouragement to Teachitright

New to the Teachitright team, Anna brings boundless enthusiasm and encouragement to every Teachitright tuition session. With five years’ experience teaching Year 6 and a strong background in maths across primary school, she has also supported pupils one-to-one in preparation for both SATs and GCSEs. Her favourite part of tutoring is getting to know each child individually in a small group and celebrating their progress as they grow in skill and confidence.

An avid believer in the power of reading, she makes it her mission to help pupils build vocabulary by encouraging them to read widely, notice new words in context and make them part of everyday conversation. She loves bringing literature to life, with The Night Diary holding a special place in her heart for the way it shows a pivotal historical moment through the eyes of a child. She feels that the book helps children understand how history affects real people and families, and to explore themes of identity, family and resilience during times of great change.

Her top 11+ preparation tip? Read something every day, talk about it, and enjoy it – a simple but powerful habit for vocabulary, comprehension and confidence. Beyond her teaching, she’s currently training to run the London Marathon in April 2026, starting from zero but tackling the challenge with determination – the same mindset she inspires in her pupils.
